Full Moon Altar Activation Ceremony: Exploring Your Purpose

As we approach the Full Moon, we'll be combing our Mantra Mondays theme with our Full Moon Ceremony, by intertwining this upcoming week's topic, Exploring Your Purpose.

The world we live in is in a constant dance of shadow and light, clarity and uncertainty, opposites that can easily spark a feeling of separation from the unity and oneness we seek within our hearts. As we move closer to this upcoming full moon, we have an opportunity to take a leap of faith and let go of our beliefs about what we need to be happy, and open ourselves up to the greater possibilities that the Divine Presence has in store for us.

We all come into this world laden with our own variety of special gifts. If you have ever spent time with young children, you can see they are highly creative, filled with light and love. Over time, our light gets diminished by living in a world where too much brightness makes others uncomfortable. Too much of a good thing, makes people doubt your worth and, if you are vulnerable and open, at some point, over time, you begin to hide your bright light just a little each day, so that at some point, you begin to doubt your worth.

The journey back to your empowered self is the journey that can take a lifetime and one some call the hero’s journey. It can be seen as a willingness to go through the depths of uncertainty and darkness and arrive at the summit with new purpose and meaning just as dawn awakens in the world, your world.

TECHNIQUES for Connecting with the Divine Presence:

Exploring within and being more vulnerable with ourselves can accelerate our awakening.

Take time each morning and connect with your inner guidance. Gather pen and paper and sit quietly with your back straight but not strained --preferably in front of your altar-- and begin to breathe deep long breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth. Observe the mind and become aware when your attention drifts. When this happens, bring your awareness back to the breath, relaxing the body, yet continuing to sit with the spine erect. After some time, you will notice your mind begins to expand and settle. Be with that sensation until you feel guided to take up your pen and paper. Then, ask yourself the following question...

"Divine Presence, What do I need to know to serve the greater good?"

Put your pen to paper, and begin to write whatever comes to you. Some begin to write as soon as the pen touches the paper and others take much longer.

Listen to that small, quiet voice within. Just listen and see if it is not offering you insight. If nothing comes, don’t be disappointed. Do this exercise again every morning this coming week and see if you feel some guidance, some form of a shift in your connection with that timeless connection. It may come in whispers, or pictures, or sensations...write down everything as it comes to you. Don’t edit it...it is a stream of consciousness from a deeper place than your conscious, waking mind.

Another method you can use to access that deeper inner presence is through chanting mantras and/or doing Japa, which I mentioned in last week’s blog. Chanting expands the awareness and settles the mind, allowing access to the realm of being where you sense a greater presence within guiding you. Let me know if either of these offerings helps you to connect more deeply. You can comment below in this blog or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram!

We’re introducing a new chant this week…

We’ll be doing this chant together during our Full Moon Altar Activation Ceremony on May 24th, this upcoming Monday, at 11am PDT.

It seems like a perfect time to share it with you because of the intensity going on in the world…we need to bring more peace onto the planet! Chanting this mantra, helps us to move from our personal selves and radiate a prayer of love and peace for the world around us. It takes us from the egoic,

little self, and its limited world view, and radiates from our global well-being. It is a reminder

we are a part of the universe and can positively impact all of creation.

The Peace Mantra

Mantra: Loka Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu Phonetic Spelling: Lo-kāh sa-mast-āh su-khi-no bha-van-tu “May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.”
