Honoring Your Ancestors is Key to Awakening

The full moon in Pisces, which occurred this past Monday, began Pitru Paksha—the fortnight of our ancestors. During the next two weeks, from the full moon back to the new moon (Sept 20 – Oct 6) is the time to tap into spirit and honor your ancestors, those dearly departed souls of your familial lineage.

During this time while the moon is waning, we are being asked to let go of past karma and attachments to our ancestors. It is believed that the unhappy souls of the deceased return to the Earth during this period to see their family members as the veil between the two world is said to be thinner and you will possibly be able to feel their presence in you life more clearly.

To ensure they attain liberation on their path, puja* blessings are performed so the ancestors will bestow health, wealth, knowledge and longevity, and ultimately liberation upon their lineage.

Vedic Astrology Forecast for September 23-30

Sept 26 – Rahu, which is a node of the Moon in Vedic astrology, is closely aspecting the Moon, which affects your emotions and intuition. in Taurus and the Sun, which symbolizes ego and confidence, in Virgo. This planetary configuation magnifies self-confidence, but be careful not to be overly confident as this will separate your from others.
 
For months, Rahu has been afflicting Saturn in Capricorn. This has prolonged the impact of Covid and the feeling of being restricted and won’t shift until October 20 when the Moon is in the sign of fiery Aries with the Sun in Libra.
 
Sept 27 to Oct 18 – During this three-week period, Mercury will be retrograde in Libra. This is a time to avoid miscommunication and arguments. 
 
Briefly, Mercury will retrograde back into Virgo on October 1. This planetary shift brings new discoveries surrounding how we live with Covid in our lives, especially in terms of different types of healing modalities.
 
On another note, before Mercury goes into retrograde, back up your computers and be prepared for malfunctions, delays, errors that are always a part of this planetary retrograde. This will be a good time to get organized, as well as replenish your energies with extra meditations.
