Our journey towards the end of the year has begun. We are moving full steam ahead as we prepare for celebration and communion. Yet, there is still work to be done in preparation, not only for those who celebrate this time of year with Christmas trees and holiday parties, but for us all as we reflect upon this building and darkening that will occur within days of each others – the final full moon of the year in Gemini and the Winter Solstice.
 
The opportunity arises from the fullness of this vibrant moon energy to embrace the deeper reality that moves within us, which is mostly unrecognized and deemed irrelevant in our world today. What is really at play here on the level of the unseen is an opportunity to bring light to darkness and to open our hearts to ourselves and then to one another.
 
It is time to lean into what resides beyond your to-do lists and busy-ness. Sit in the darkness and forgive yourself and others for what pinches your heart, sparks anger within you, or causes frustration and concern. It is only through bringing light to those fractured pieces within your heart that you can fully open to another and authentically celebrate. It is only through seeking forgiveness within that together we begin to heal our troubled world as we are part of the global healing that is deeply needed now.
 
We are about to traverse the tipping point between light and darkness, truth and illusion, resistance and acceptance. Be brave and embrace your intuitive nature. Surrender to what is yet to be birthed that is speaking to your heart and embrace the light within you.

It is bridging the personal microcosm with the global macrocosm. This is a moment of revelations and as the moon illuminates the night’s sky, you will see your life through a new lens. Use this full moon energy to your advantage…you will be directed to what is for the highest good. Let the light of this moon guide you on your path.

December 21: The Winter Solstice 7:59am PT  
 
From a spiritual perspective, the Winter Solstice celebrates the rebirth of all life. It is the marking of the days beginning to get longer and the realization that the Sun will shine brighter. Because of this, the Winter Solstice brings you renewed faith, hope and positivity.
 
In many cultures and spiritual practices the Winter Solstice has powerful and reflective energy connected to it. It brings new beginnings and the honoring of the light, even in the depths of darkness. Likened to the symbolism of the new moon, it is the beginning of the cycle of renewed possibility and an ideal time to place your attention on that which you desire to manifest as well as to ponder on wisdom gained over the past year.
 
In Vedic astrology, the sun is in Sagittarius, a sign of spiritual growth and knowledge, good fortune, optimism and opportunities. It is also the sign of faith and belief. If you have faith and believe everything will work out, the energy of Sagittarius will support you. The ruling planet of Sagittarius is Jupiter who is the teacher and guru as well as the planet of expansion and education. 
 
You are here to learn and expand and Jupiter, with its wise energy, along with the optimism of Sagittarius gives you the opportunity to grow in spiritual knowledge and have faith you will experience support and success in your forward motion.

We often think of the winter solstice as an event that spans an entire calendar day, but the solstice actually lasts only a moment. Specifically, it’s the exact moment when a hemisphere is tilted as far away from the Sun as it can be. This is shown in the diagram below.
